Siesta Key is a more developed and well-known beach destination as compared to Longboat key. As a result, Siesta Key beaches are better equipped with modern amenities and they are also busier and livelier as compared to Longboat Key. You will easily find beachside amenities like lifeguard stations, restrooms, showers, and changing areas at Siesta Key.

Siesta Key is a world-class beach destination. It is a well-developed island as compared to Longboat Key. It attracts a number of tourists every year from across the country. So, obviously, there are more things to do on Siesta Key than on Longboat Key.

Siesta Key is home to world-class beaches like Siesta Key Beach and Crescent Beach. Beachgoers can explore a number of water activities on these beaches like parasailing, jet skiing, fishing, and swimming.

Apart from that, Siesta Key is renowned for its diverse wildlife scenes. It is a great place for birdwatching. There are a number of beautiful bird species in Siesta Key, like the Roseate spoonbill, Laughing Gull, and Royal Tern.

Also, you can take a dolphin-watching tour and get a glimpse of these amazing creatures swimming and playing in the water. It is, especially, a perfect activity for families with little kids. However, in my opinion, visiting Siesta Key village is one of the best things to do in Siesta Key. Siesta Key Village is just walking distance away from Siesta Key beach and it is one of the most exciting places to visit on the island. This lovely village is mainly famous for its number of boutique shops and art galleries. Also, you will find some of the best restaurants on the island here. It is also a great place to interact with the local community.

Longboat, on the other hand, is low-key. This small island is still unknown to larger crowds and is undeveloped as compared to Siesta Key. As a result, there is not much to do on Longboat Key as compared to Siesta Key. However, it doesn’t mean that there is absolutely nothing to do on Longboat Key.

As I already mentioned, Longboat Key has unspoiled and uncrowded beaches. So, you can spend a lot of time on the beach, swimming, boogie boarding, or just relaxing.

Apart from its secluded beaches, Longboat Key is quite popular for its golf courses. There are currently four golf courses on the island, which are considered some of the top golf courses in Sarasota.

If you have explored the beaches on the island and looking to explore some fun activities, then you can visit the nearby city of Sarasota. Sarasota is just 20 minutes away from Longboat Key. And, you will find almost everything from world-class shopping, live theatre, and museums to opera in this lively city.

Siesta Key Vs. Longboat Key: Nightlife
